Position Title: Marketing & Campaign Project Manager - volunteer

Location: Remote  

Term: Voluntary position.  Perhaps 4 hrs per week

ShelterBox is a charitable, non-aligned global disaster relief organisation specialising in supporting people displaced from their home due to disaster or conflict.  We’ve operated for 25 years, helping some 2 million people in crises across Africa, The Middle East, Eastern Europe, Asia, and the Pacific.  

Our mission is, No one without shelter after disaster.  Beyond provide immediate support, we are further committed to increasing the visibility of people in direst crises, building awareness and capacity to help in our New Zealand context.  

We have superb marketing support in the form of campaign properties and materials.  The support of a suitably motivated and experienced marketing and campaign management professionals will help us executive our key campaigns to best effect and raise the levels or awareness and engagement of ShelterBox among New Zealanders.

 Position Overview: 

We seek the support of a self-guided, detail-oriented Marketing & Campaign Project Manager to work with our team planning, launching and managing projects and fundraising campaigns. This role will give you tangible ways to make a meaningful impact as we improve awareness of and engagement with ShelterBox in New Zealand. 

The ideal candidate will be strategic and savvy, with solid senior experience in domains of marketing and comms, fundraising and PR.   Managing project detail, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and bringing creative marketing concepts to life will be your natural mode. 

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to the development and execution of marketing & fundraising campaigns from concept through delivery and post-campaign analysis.  Two main campaigns are in the hopper. Both have good content and structure.  But improves are always welcomed! 

  • Assist to coordinate our OffTheGrid fundraising activity at a community, group and individual level 

  • Manage timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure fundraising promotions and projects are delivered as agreed. 

  • Liaise with donors, partners, creative agencies, media contacts, and other stakeholders to align marketing efforts with organizational goals. 

  • Participate with content creation for digital platforms, ensuring consistency our objectives, values and mission. 

 Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in marketing project management, campaign coordination, or related roles. 

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. 

  • Creative thinker with experience in digital marketing, event planning, and cause-driven storytelling. 

  • Proficiency in CRM / CMS systems (e.g.,  SupporterHub, Trello, HubSpot ...). 

  • Knowledge of or passion for international development, nonprofit sector and community development is highly desirable.
