We are seeking 2 passionate and dedicated Trustees to join our Board.
Our Trust Board is made up of people who are dedicated to community empowerment through our mission of connecting and supporting communities to reduce waste in Tāmaki and Maungakiekie areas of Tāmaki Makaurau.
Initially a grassroots organisation, the Charitable Trust was formed in 2017 and has been leading waste reduction action projects, community events and environmental education over Glen Innes, Panmure, Onehunga and Oranga connecting and networking with similar organisations across South and East Auckland.
This is a voluntary role with a time commitment of around 4-6 hours per month. Board meetings are held monthly either in person or online.
The ideal candidate will have:
A strong commitment to our mission and values
Experience or desire to learn in nonprofit management, governance, or a relevant field
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience working collaboratively and building relationships with others
Have a local and vested interest in the area
A strategic mindset
A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and interest in supporting our journey for Te Ao Māori
As a Trustee, you will be responsible for:
Ensuring the organisation operates within its mission and values
Helping set the direction of the organisation and measuring performance
Participating in Board meetings, training and community events
Fostering relationships with key stakeholders
Making decisions that impact the organisation's direction and future success

We educate our community on ways to reduce waste and support other groups and organisations to have a waste reduction kaupapa.
