Position: Development Director: Funding and Sponsor relations

Hours: 118 hours, $4,720 Gross (1st April-31st December 2025)

Rate of pay: $40 per hour

Tenure: Fixed term 9 month contract 

Responsible to: NZ Barok Inc. Executive Producer, Artistic Director and Advisory Board

Key tasks:

• Fundraising planning and preparation
• Writing of funding applications/sponsorship proposals
• Proactively identify and cultivate new sources of funding and sponsorship
• Follow up/Post production reports
• Maintain a professional profile for NZ Barok
• Maintain and develop good relationships with new and potential sponsors

Person specifications:

• Should have organisational experience in arts and charitable trust fundraising.

Must be:

• Approachable
• An effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
• Competent in the use of computers, internet, and modern communications.
• Self-directed, taking responsibility for own tasks and work
• Able to prioritise multiple tasks and be proactive in meeting deadlines.
• Should always demonstrate a professional approach to tasks and be well organised.
• Must be prepared to apply for funding throughout the 9 month period
