1. Introduction
Volunteering Auckland is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Fundraiser / Grant Writer to provide consultancy fundraising and grant writing services. As we look to grow and sustain our impact, we require immediate support to identify and secure funding opportunities through grants, as well as developing and executing fundraising strategies that align with our mission of leading, supporting and promoting volunteering within the greater Auckland region.

Volunteering Auckland wishes to select a candidate who can:
· Assist with developing a fundraising strategy
· Research and identify potential grant opportunities
· Write and submit competitive grant proposals
· Provide ongoing support for successful funding acquisition
We seek someone who can help us develop a sustainable, long-term 3-year funding model while helping us reach our immediate financial targets.
3. Scope of Work
Please note: This is a contract role on an ‘as needed basis’, with no set weekly hours. Work hours will vary based on an agreed-upon grant application calendar.
The selected fundraiser/grant writer will be responsible for the following tasks:
Strategic Fundraising Consultation in consultation with the General Manager
· Conduct a needs assessment for our fundraising efforts
· Develop a strategic fundraising plan (short-term and long-term)
· Identify potential funding sources (corporate sponsors, individual donors, foundations, etc.)
Grant Writing
· Research and identify relevant grant opportunities (local, government, private)
· Draft, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals
· Ensure compliance with grant guidelines and deadlines
· Prepare necessary documents, budgets, and supporting materials for grant applications
· Ensure compliance with grant guidelines, deadlines, and accountability
Reports and Evaluation
· Advise on best practices and adjustments to improve fundraising effectiveness

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
· Relevant experience in strategic fundraising and grant writing
· Knowledge of and experience with the types of grants we seek
· Proposed approach and understanding of our needs
· Cost-effectiveness and value of services
· References and past success in similar projects
