Job Description

English Language Partners is a not-for-profit,education provider with NZQA category 1 status, that has been providing English language programmes and settlement support to adult migrants and people from refugee and asylum backgrounds throughout New Zealand for over 40 years.
  
With 21 centres spanning from Whangarei to Invercargill, our dedicated team of 350 staff and 800 volunteers annually supports more than 8,000 learners. We are passionate about supporting former refugees and migrants participate successfully in all aspects of life in Aotearoa New Zealand and we are looking for your help to achieve this.

You’re adept at managing complex projects, turning vision into reality while continuously improving frameworks and outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide academic leadership to ensure high-quality academic leadership across the organisation's teaching and learning framework, processes, systems and resources.
  • Lead and shape the development of programmes that provide clear progression pathways for learners, ensuring alignment with NZQA registration and accreditation requirements.
  • Foster a data informed culture of academic decision-making that ensures we leverage data as a tool for accountability, continuous improvement, and strategic alignment.
  • Lead quality assurance frameworks, self-assessment processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the recruitment, professional development and retention of a highly skilled and motivated teaching team.
  • Drive initiatives that increase learner success ensuring equitable outcomes that align with learner’s goals and aspirations.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Strategy 2030 as a member of the Senior Managment Team.  

Is this you?

  • At least 5 years of experience in adult education, preferably in English language teaching.
  • At least 5 years of senior leadership experience in academic or educational management roles.
  • Proven experience in leading curriculum design, quality assurance processes, and integrating technology into teaching and learning practices.
  • Strong skills in using data analytics to inform academic decision-making, measure learner outcomes, and support continuous improvement.
  • In-depth understanding of NZQA, TEC, and MoE requirements, including compliance, learner success and investment plans.
  • Deep understanding of culturally responsive teaching practices and a commitment to equitable outcomes for diverse learner groups, including CALD learners.
