Kia ora! Are you looking for part-time mahi that will make a big difference?
I am a freelance writer and disabled community advocate looking for someone to join my small crew of disability support workers as soon as possible, to take over from team members who are moving on to new opportunities throughout February.
My disability support crew provide a range of supports for me from intimate personal care to support with organisation and transport. The crew work with me at home, at work and in my community and are a valued and integral part of making sure my busy creative life run smoothly. I need people who can quickly learn my daily routine but also help me navigate access challenges that come up in new situations and environments I move in. My own work ranges from teaching advocacy, writing, theatre and film making. While Wellington is my base I sometimes travel for work and require support from my team.

The shifts I am looking to cover are below. Some flexibility is required outside these times to be responsive to my needs, which sometimes includes urgent personal care. Additional hours and extended shifts may also be requested to support me with responsibilities and adventures outside my regular routine. You should expect to cover leave for other team members. Team meetings and paid training sessions will be arranged as required.
I am looking to divide the hours between two permanent team members to both provide reliable hours and ensure enough cover across the team. I am open to what this division looks like but you would need to be able to commit to the arrangement in an ongoing way.
