HITO is the driving force behind apprenticeships in Hairdressing, Barbering and Beauty Therapy. They develop and support apprenticeship and on-job training qualifications for career and business success, and their vision is for 100% of people in their industries to be 100% New Zealand qualified.

Reporting to the Executive Director and supported by two direct reports (Lead Graphic Designer and Marketing, Social Media and Events Coordinator), you will be responsible for delivering on the execution of all HITO’s marketing and communication functions.

This is a hands-on role and some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing marketing and communications activities, collateral, training materials and events that support the brand and acquisition of sales

  • Creating and implementing engaging social media campaigns and marketing collateral
  • Working with the Graphic Designer to develop the brand, and to design and print marketing and training materials to support HITO programmes

This is an excellent development opportunity for someone with three to five years of experience in a marketing and/or communications role looking to take the next step in their career and develop some team leadership experience.

The role is what you make of it, and your input and ideas will be encouraged. The environment is relaxed, professional, supportive and highly collaborative and the more you put in, the more you will get out.

The ideal start date for this position will be early March, or sooner, for a handover with the incumbent, who is due to go on maternity leave in April, however they’re not adverse to someone starting earlier.

Person Profile:

  • Creative, innovative, practical and pragmatic
