We need volunteers to work with our team and agencies in the community to schedule workshops and liaise with volunteers in Whanganui. You will be able to volunteer remotely or in-person. If you have any questions, please email manawatu@redcross.org.nz
Young Humanitarians | Karawhiua! aims to improve lives by inspiring rangatahi | young people to act on the humanitarian issues they care about through volunteering. The programme consists of six modules on topics like climate change, nuclear war, inclusion, and migration and are linked to local volunteering opportunities.
Volunteer as a young humanitarians coordinator and serve behind the scenes to help bring the programme to life. This role is a great way to support rangatahi to improve the lives of those around them. A key outcome for this year will be to map out next steps to grow this exciting programme into a sustainable, annual activity for rangatahi | young people in our community. The role can be completed by one person, or as a team - it's up to you what and when you'd prefer! You can also expect support from the our team, to assist and guide you along the way.

When you apply, you’ll need to provide the details of two referees that we can contact. For example, they could be your employer, professor, friend, or someone who knows you well.
Your referees can’t be related to you or part of your extended family, nor be your partner or spouse, nor live at the same address as you.
You'll receive all the training and guidance you need to make sure the programme is successful. Our team will provide you with resources, provide local connections and help you understand your tasks.
As a volunteer with New Zealand Red Cross, you'll have access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) if you need support with your wellbeing.
