Last year the Retirement Villages’ Residents’ Council was formed to be a voice for residents, with strong links to both residents and operators for the benefit of those living in retirement villages.
There are currently 8 Council members, who guide the work of the Council, on a voluntary basis. It is important to the work of the Council that there is diversity on the governing body and the Council has identified that we are missing a voice for Auckland. Maybe that is you!
We are looking for someone who wants to make a positive difference for retirement village residents. You get to work with a great group of residents from around the country. Meetings are usually monthly and online with 3 face to face meetings, usually held in Wellington. All expenses of Council members are paid, like travel and accommodation.
All nominated residents will ideally be put forward by a resident committee, but can also be nominated by two other residents.
