Be part of Tāmaki Makaurau’s flagship sustainability festival! EcoFest is an annual, community-led, Auckland-wide celebration of environmental conservation and climate action. Through a rich programme of workshops, activities, and installations, EcoFest makes sustainable living accessible and fun for all ages.
We’re seeking an enthusiastic Festival Marketing Coordinator to join the Beautification Trust on a fixed-term basis to help promote EcoFest 2025. You’ll be pivotal in enhancing EcoFest’s visibility and community engagement, working with the Marketing and Communications Team, and collaborating with event hosts, partners, and stakeholders to bring EcoFest to life across Auckland.
What you’ll do:
In this role, you’ll help implement EcoFest’s marketing and PR campaign, ensuring wide reach and engagement across Auckland. You’ll support our event hosts and Community Team to create memorable, impactful festival experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Executing the EcoFest social media content plan by creating engaging posts for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok that highlight festival events and community stories.
- Assisting in planning and producing regular EcoFest email newsletters that share community stories and festival updates to inspire and inform attendees.
- Scouting and supporting PR opportunities by gathering stories from event hosts and participants.
- Coordinating the distribution of printed EcoFest programmes, helping make the festival visible and accessible to communities far and wide.
- Implementing marketing campaigns for Beautification Trust-led events, including managing event listings and social media promotions.
- Supporting the production and distribution of EcoFest T-shirts for staff and volunteers.
- Assisting event hosts to run successful events by helping them list events on the EcoFest website, identifying collaboration opportunities, and ensuring they feel well-prepared.
- Assist in running Beautification Trust-hosted events on the day, providing a safe, welcoming atmosphere and supporting volunteers and interns in their roles.
- Plus other tasks as needed to support the Beautification Trust’s wider Marketing and Communications goals.
Some Saturday work may be needed during the festival, with at least 2 weeks’ notice provided.
About you:
Our ideal candidate is eager to learn, passionate about environmental sustainability, and enthusiastic about community-driven initiatives. You’ll bring:
- Experience in marketing, communications, or event promotion, ideally in a community or festival context.
- Skills in content creation, including copywriting, basic graphic design, and simple video editing.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends.
- A full driver’s license.
