Chief Executive
The National Advocacy Trust (Trust) is a not-for-profit organisation established in July 2007. Since its inception, the Trust has been contracted by the Director of Advocacy to provide an independent, nationwide Health and Disability Consumer Advocacy Service, in accordance with the Health and Disability Commissioner Act 1994 and the Code of Health and Disability Consumers’ Rights.
The Trust is now seeking its next Chief Executive. As the Trust supports consumers in a rapidly evolving health sector, it must embrace change to deliver services more effectively and efficiently. This includes raising the Trust’s profile, expanding communication channels, adopting flexible service delivery models, and ensuring positive influence on health sector outcomes for consumers.
As Chief Executive, you will play a key role in setting strategy, identifying opportunities, and driving change. You will need the ability to navigate complex situations and relationships, achieving the best outcomes for health and disability service consumers.
A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a culturally competent leadership style are essential. You should have proven experience in developing and maintaining relationships with government, iwi, as well as with NGOs, and diverse communities. A deep understanding of the health and disability sector is an advantage.
