About the Role:
As our Individual Giving Specialist - Retention, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping our amazing donors engaged and excited about the work we do. You’ll craft personalised experiences that make our supporters feel like the heroes they are, ensuring they stick with us for the long haul. Think of yourself as the glue that keeps our donor community together, helping them see the incredible impact they’re making on children’s lives every day.
This role is a blend of strategy and creativity. You’ll have the freedom to try new ideas, tweak what’s already working, and make sure every donor feels valued and connected to our mission.
Why This Role Matters:
Regular giving is the lifeblood of our work at Save the Children. Your efforts in growing our donor base will ensure we can continue to deliver essential services and emergency relief to vulnerable children. This role offers a unique blend of strategic planning and practical execution, allowing you to see the tangible outcomes of your dedication and hard work.
Key Responsibilities:

- Craft Meaningful Donor Journeys: Tailor the experience for each donor based on what they care about most. Your goal? To make every interaction feel personal and meaningful, whether it’s through a heartfelt thank-you note or a special update on their impact.
- Inspire with Your Words: Create communications that are not just informative, but also inspiring and fun. You’ll be the voice behind our retention campaigns, using emails, mail, texts, and more to keep our donors in the loop and excited about what’s next.
- Collaborate and Create: Work closely with our Communications Team and external partners to deliver top-notch campaigns. You’ll bring your creative flair to everything you do, ensuring our messages resonate and engage.
- Analyse and Optimise: Keep a close eye on how our retention efforts are performing. You’ll dive into the data, run tests, and make tweaks to keep improving our strategies and keeping our donors happy.
- Champion the Donor Experience: Make sure our donors’ preferences are always front and center. You’ll help us tailor our approach so that every supporter feels heard, respected, and valued.
What we are looking for:
- Experience in Fundraising: You’ve got a solid background in individual giving and know what it takes to keep donors engaged and motivated.
- Analytical Skills: You’re comfortable diving into data to find insights that can help us improve and innovate.
- Creative Thinker: You’re full of ideas and know how to bring them to life in a way that connects with people.
- Strong Communicator: Whether you’re writing, speaking, or listening, you know how to get your message across and make others feel understood.
