Pest Free Kaipātiki Restoration Society (PFK) is a community-led organisation with a small team of restoration specialists complemented by an engine room of fantastic volunteers. This strategic role has a great mix of providing leadership and support, balanced with time in the field at restoration events. 


You’ll work with the PFK team to coordinate and deliver our programmes across the Kaipātiki Local Board area, supporting our wonderful volunteer groups to ensure strategic ecological action.  You’ll develop and enhance good working relationships with community stakeholders, volunteers, and staff within Pest Free Kaipātiki. 


Our ideal candidates would demonstrate skills and experience in:

  • Leading ecological restoration projects
  • Extensive pest plant knowledge
  • Ability to work with key stakeholders to develop a strategic pest plant plan
  • Working with the volunteer sector
  • Comfortable in a public facing role and able to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders whether that be individuals or groups, and across social media and other channels
  • Organised and efficient - able to prioritise tasks accordingly and meet deadlines
  • A good team player
  • A flexible approach to your work - some availability on evenings and weekends is a must
  • Administrative work - capable and confident in using computer applications, in record keeping and data management
  • Passionate about NZ native plants and wildlife and protecting them from pests and biosecurity risks
  • Access to your own transport is essential - travel costs will be reimbursed
