Asthma and Respiratory Foundation NZ (ARFNZ) is New Zealand’s principal authority for all respiratory conditions, representing the interests of the 700,000 New Zealanders living with a respiratory disease such as asthma.

Reporting to the PR and Communications Marketing Manager, you will play an integral part of a team that takes the Friends of the Foundation sponsorship programme to new heights, with a focus on nurturing existing partner relationships and securing new sponsors.

At a practical level, you will help raise the Foundation's profile and initiatives, research and secure new partners and sponsors, and cultivate strong relationships with existing sponsors. You will collaborate closely with the marketing team to generate ideas for sponsorship activities that support and promote the Friends of the Foundation programme as well as prepare compelling sponsorship proposals, monitor sponsorship performance, and provide impact reports to keep sponsors informed of their contributions.

This role is highly rewarding, leveraging your interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities and ability to bring people together along the journey.

The partnerships you help secure will maintain sponsor engagement and support AFRNZ in continuing to deliver its mission.


Person Profile:

  • Proven experience in corporate sponsorship, partnership development, strategic partnerships, sponsorship engagement or relationship management role, or related position
  • Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector, and a nuanced understanding of its challenges and opportunities would be highly desirable
  • Exceptional relationship management skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success in acquiring and managing new business, and achieving set KPIs and targets and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills, and has the ability to articulate the value proposition of a partnership opportunity
  • Creative, innovative, and able to identify opportunities for partnership growth
  • Excellent organisation, time management, prioritisation, and planning capabilities
  • Personable, with a good sense of humour and a positive attitude
  • Highly motivated and driven, capable of working effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • A strong affinity, passion for, and/or understanding towards the mission and values of the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation NZ
  • Confident with technology and proficient with Microsoft Office 365, and basic knowledge of social media and marketing tools (i.e. Canva, Mailchimp, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn)
  • Flexibility, as travel will be an essential part of this role
