Job Description

Otago Youth Wellness Trust (OYWT) provides valued support to rangatahi with high and multiple needs so they are able to live and participate in their community. We believe in the intrinsic tapu of rangatahi, the right to equal opportunity, wellbeing and participation, within their community and society.

Our CEO is responsible for the overall control, management and direction of the Trust.  This includes responsibility for the services provided management of the assets and financial resources of the organisation. Providing accurate information and reporting to the relevant stakeholders in a timely manner. 

The role will also be very rewarding as this service is seen as an essential part of the care and support of rangatahi in the Dunedin City area. 

The CEO has a broad range of responsibilities including:
•    Strategic and operational planning with the Board
•    Securing funding
•    Financial planning and delivery 
•    Human resources planning and staff management 
•    Health and Safety 
•    IT 
•    Quality planning and delivery
•    Legal and statutory compliance

Using your previous knowledge and experience, this is a rewarding role at a leadership level.

To be successful in this role you will possess excellent communication skills and have the following skills and experience:
•    Demonstrated proven staff team management skills
•    Demonstrated ability of management operations
•    Proven service delivery experience 
•    Ability to network and build relationships with all stakeholders and work across all sectors of the community to achieve successful outcomes
•    Skills in negotiation of contracts and finding funding streams
•    Demonstrated proven ability in financial management
•    Significant experience working in a related social services sector at a management/ leadership level is essential
•    Proven ability to relate to youth and community support services
•    Proven ability to seek constant improvement to achieve effective and efficient outcomes
•    Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and application to services provided 
•    A positive and passionate attitude
