Job Description

FMC is looking for a committed outdoor enthusiast who wants to work for one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s oldest NGOs advocating for outdoor recreation in our exceptional natural environment.  Check us out on our website.

We proudly represent nearly 100 outdoor clubs – trampers, climbers, whitewater rafters, free-flyers and other outdoor types. We engage and work with clubs up and down the country, local and central governments, landowners and Māori groups.

The Executive Officer Operations is a unique and exciting role for
someone with strong administrative and policy skills, who is looking to get involved at the very heart of our organisation and with Aotearoa New Zealand’s outdoor community.

The role involves supporting FMC’s enthusiastic volunteer executive committee, helping to keep FMC systems working and developing our organisation to be the best it can be.

The role is a wide ranging one from supporting the FMC President with drafting policy submissions to talking with government departments to administrative tasks such as arranging Committee meetings, minutes and managing payments. An ability to build strong relationships with others is vital, including with FMC's other part-time staff, our executive members and other outdoor recreation and conservation groups. Good understanding of systems such as Google Drive, emails and basic Xero is vital.
