Job Description

The External Reporting Board (XRB) is seeking up to three (3) members to complete the establishment of its newly formed Sustainability Reporting Board (SRB). 

This is an exciting and meaningful opportunity to lead with influence both domestically and internationally to help shape the future of sustainability reporting and its ability to achieve outcomes for Aotearoa New Zealand.

Chaired by Becky Lloyd, and with a total expected membership of seven (7) individuals, the SRB acts in an oversight capacity and is responsible, by delegation from the External Reporting Board, for the development, approval and promulgation of climate standards and non-binding guidance on other non-financial reporting matters in New Zealand. 

Members of the SRB will show a clear passion and understanding of the function served by sustainability reporting to achieve real world sustainability outcomes. You will understand the international and domestic environment of sustainability reporting and bring exceptional interpersonal skills and independent thinking to your role.

You will have deep technical sustainability experience in a scientific or practical working context and will be a preparer (including professional services provider), user, assurance provider, or academic working in the field of sustainability reporting.

About the XRB and the role

The XRB is an independent Crown entity responsible for the development and issuing of accounting, auditing and assurance, and climate-related disclosure standards and guidance for non-financial reporting. We are committed to ensuring New Zealand prospers through effective decision making informed by high-quality, credible and integrated reporting.

Members of the SRB act in an oversight capacity alongside highly competent staff.
