About Ako Mātātupu Teach First NZ
Ako Mātātupu Teach First NZ is offering a prestigious two-year, employment-based secondary teacher training programme with a full scholarship to cover all programme costs. 

Open to NZ Citizens and Permanent Residents who have not already undergone formal teacher training, it serves as a pathway to becoming a registered secondary school teacher. 

Over the two years, you'll undergo comprehensive training and professional development while actively contributing to the educational landscape of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Who We're Looking For!

We're seeking individuals who possess a unique blend of qualities that set them apart as future leaders in education.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree or qualification at level 7 or higher, with a minimum of four (4) papers including at least one at 300-level in one or more of the following subjects: 

  • Te Reo Māori
  • English
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Mathematics or Statistics
  • Technology
  • Digital Technology
