About Head and Neck Cancer Foundation Aotearoa:

HNCFA aims to improve outcomes for head and neck cancer patients and their whānau. 

Our work has three main strands: 

1) supporting medical research to better understand head and neck cancers;

2) providing clinician and patient education about head and neck cancers;

3) advocating for policy which promotes the prevention, efficient diagnosis and effective treatment of head and neck cancers, and addresses health inequities.

About the role:

We're looking for a new Trustee with expertise in fundraising to join our Board. We want to ensure the charity’s long-term sustainability through a robust fundraising strategy. We'd love to hear from individuals with a track-record of income generation through donations, philanthropic engagement and compelling grant writing.

This role would sit alongside our 7 other Board members who represent key clinical expertise and patient insight, and would work with our part-time Chief Executive.

Our Board meets for approximately 2 hours, 4-6 times each year. The majority of Board meetings are virtual, but occasionally in-person. Board members are required to prepare for Board meetings by reading any Board papers provided, and preparing reports as required. This Trustee would also be required to support the Chief Executive carry out fundraising tasks in between Board meetings.
