Anxiety NZ has been providing mental wellbeing since 1980. We support thousands of people every year through clinical services, a free 24/7 national 0800 ANXIETY helpline and community education (including a brand-new online course supporting mental wellbeing called Empowered).

We need someone special to come onboard and help us to craft our messaging and execute our communications strategy. Working with the Programme Manager, and alongside a small but passionate team you’ll be involved in, or responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing a strategic communications plan
  • Planning, developing, and executing all communications (including social media, newsletters, website content, annual report, EDMs and more)
  • Managing and maintaining all content, materials, and messaging for all campaigns (you’ll get to dip your toe into the digital fundraising space and be in charge of all collateral)
  • Supporting Community Education projects

You’ll see the direct impact of your work when our communications KPIs increase, and more people know about us and support our work (donations increase).

You will have direct experience in a similar role (at least three years), when you apply, please include links to your work and/or samples.

You will also ideally bring:  

  • Strong writing skills and the ability to craft compelling communications – tailored to the right audience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • Proficiency with social media, Canva, CRMs, websites, and email marketing platforms 
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • The confidence to build relationships and engage with key stakeholder groups.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, best practice around accessibility, diversity, the portrayal of mental health in the media and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
