BUDDIES PEER SUPPORT – VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY

USE YOUR LIVED EXPERIENCE OF MENTAL HEALTH DISTRESS AND ADDICTION TO EMPOWER OTHERS ON THEIR JOURNEY OF RECOVERY

Join our amazing team of dedicated Buddies peer volunteers!

The Buddies Peer Support Service walks alongside on the journey of recovery with ‘peers’ who are currently experiencing mental health distress and addiction and staying in the acute wards in Wellington (Te Whare O Matairangi) and the Hutt Valley (Te Whare Ahuru) and Tangaroa Kenepuru Hopsital.

As a volunteer, you will extend support to peers experiencing mental health distress and addiction and build relationships that support and encourage the values of self-determination, choice, shared experience, mutual help and recovery.

All Peer Support volunteers need to identify as having their own lived experience of mental distress and/or addiction and be well established in their own recovery.

BUDDIES PEER SUPPORT SERVICE IS THE 2021 WINNER OF THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH VOLUNTEER TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARD!
