Whenua Iti Outdoors (WIO) lives to the Vision “Experiential Learning Inspiring Positive Change”. At the core of the Whenua Iti Outdoors' vision are opportunities for experiential learning in the outdoors that promote positive learning and personal growth. These benefits are holistic and wide ranging, and we strive towards a space where access to these experiences is available to and valued by all. We are a Worksafe approved provider of Adventure Activities, an approved NZQA learning centre, a Duke of Edinburgh Award Provider and a member of the International GAP Year Association.
We are looking for a Project and Funding Coordinator to work between 30-40 hours/week.
Responsibilities are likely to vary each and every day. The role demands an organised professional who can both multi-task and remain calm under pressure. People and organisations this role would interact with are varied and can include government agencies, community groups, grant makers, donors, schools and many more. The Project and Funding Coordinator will need to excel in all aspects of face to face, verbal and written communication. As an organisation working with clients in the outdoors, circumstances often change and the role will require an ability to adapt quickly to fast moving changes on a day to day basis. Ideally you would have a coordination or administration background.
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain and/or grow appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi).
This is a great opportunity to be part of a supportive, high performing team, working to inspire individuals and communities through outdoor, experiential learning programmes. This person will be a key member of the operational team working with a dedicated team of instructors, managers and support staff.
