SPELD New Zealand Inc is a registered charity established over 50 years ago. We support individuals with specific learning disabilities (SLD) , like dyslexia. We provide training and other professional development options for teachers and other educators, diagnostic assessors, families, employers and others interested in SLD. We refer individuals to our assessors for diagnosis, and to our trained teachers for remediation. We advocate for equity for those with SLD, and promote awareness in the wider community.
Our National Office is based in Auckland with our Northern Regional Office. We have regional offices in Hastings and Christchurch.
