Project Crimson Trust is a thirty-year-old environmental charity with a proud history and an eye on the future. Originally we worked to protect the pōhutukawa and rātā, and in 2016 expanded our focus to care for all native trees through a world-first digital marketplace: Trees That Count.
Trees That Count is now the Trust’s key programme, and our digital platform connects generous businesses and everyday Kiwis to provide funding to restoration groups across Aotearoa to enable the planting of millions more native trees by over 1,000 planting groups.
The small-scale work of Trees That Count is complemented by the Tipu Ake programme, which is an ambitious body of work supporting unique large-scale restoration investment opportunities in iconic locations nationwide.
