Engaging with people in our community and including those who have the lived experience in this kaupapa enables us to authentically work with whanau to support them to achieve successful outcomes.
Every person and their whanau have challenges that they face on their life path. Our focus is on supporting people to overcome their current issues and minimise the return of these recurring by providing a korowai (wrap around) service.
Developing skills for a sustainable future is through strong support with pathway setting, life skills and education, linkages with whanau, social work support, advocacy with accessing resources, counselling including CBT and Post traumatic stress therapies, and financial navigation.
Knowledge (mohiotanga) strengthens resilience.
WFSN provides a korowai of support through many different resources, services and professional disciplines. Social work, counselling, Navigators, Financial navigators and creative programmes is provided but the key is that the person/whaanau needs and aspirations is the central focus and not what a "service" may provide.
We are an NGO with some service agreements with government departments but also relies heavily on philanthopic grants and donation.
