Chatham Islands Landscape Restoration Trust

We’re a charitable community trust working to restore nature’s gifts to the Chatham Islands.

Our remote archipelago has a rich history and unique natural environment, home to nearly 10% of Aotearoa’s endangered species and to a resilient community whose livelihoods are intrinsically linked to the health of the whenua. Our mahi supports biodiversity, habitat and ecosystem restoration, climate resilience, and creating a sustainable future for our small community.

We take a big-picture approach towards environmental restoration. We have a long-term focus, which means thinking about what we're doing right now and what we need to do over time to create the future we want. We also think at an ecosystem level, from the sea to the soil to the sky.

Our flagship programme is Predator Free Chathams, working to restore our islands through predator control, landscape restoration, and rewilding.
