Nīkau Foundation is Te Upoko-o-te-Ika-a-Māui, the Greater Wellington region’s community foundation. Established in 1991 by a group of passionate locals, Nīkau Foundation has a mission to grow generosity to support the people and places of our region, forever. 

Nīkau Foundation works alongside generous individuals, families, charitable trustees and for-purpose organisations to build reliable, long-term funding streams to support a range of community causes. Now 34-years into its story, the Foundation is the kaitiaki of almost $40 million, which is being invested, grown and protected to create long-term impact.
