Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wellington is a youth mentoring organisation that creates and supports long-term, one-to-one relationships between trusted adult volunteers (Bigs) and young people aged 6 to 18 (Littles). Our mission is to help tamariki realise their full potential by matching them with a positive role model who offers consistent support, encouragement, and guidance. These mentoring relationships are carefully supervised and built on shared interests, trust, and mutual respect. Whether community-based or school-based, our programmes aim to build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. Through regular catch-ups, fun activities, and meaningful conversations, mentors empower young people to thrive—at home, at school, and in life. At the heart of our work is the belief that every child deserves someone in their corner.
