Hope Rising Farm Programme Manager

Hope Rising Farm Charitable Trust, a faith-based charity located in Ngaruawahia, is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Programme Manager to lead and ensure the excellence of our programmes. This role involves active mentoring during sessions and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality in our services. Our current Programme Manager will be on maternity leave, making this a fixed-term position for one year, with the potential for a long-term contract extension.

Dedicated to empowering our community’s tamariki, rangatahi and those most vulnerable through equine and farm-based life skills and wellbeing programmes. We aim to foster confidence and positive change in a peaceful, fun, farm environment. 

The position is 30 hours weekly and may expand to full-time, based on funding availability. 

Key attributes for the Programme Manager position at Hope Rising Farm Charitable Trust: 

Programme Management, and Development 

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and managing programmes, schedules, resources, and mentors. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate with schools, social services, and caregivers to develop tailored programme plans. 
  • Equine knowledge is desirable, but training will be given 
  • Experience in being able to negotiate agreements with service providers. 
  • Ability to support and train mentors to deliver effective programmes. 
  • Experience in health and safety compliance and ability to manage risk. 

Social Services Delivery 

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering programme services  
  • Ability to compile feedback from participant, provider, support person and mentors to improve services and explore opportunities for expansion. 
  • Ability to oversee, manage and support mentors with the day-today programme content, taking into account immediate needs of participants, weather, equines and other day-to-day factors. 

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or field experience. 
  • Experience working with tamariki, rangatahi, women and families 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 
  • Understanding of Tikanga Maori and multicultural sensitivity.
