Family Support (Mid North) is a charitable trust with a purpose of providing benefits to the community by way of free counselling, to improve the wellbeing of tamariki/children, whānau/families and individuals, who have experienced harm caused by sexual violence, family or whānau violence; and for those who live with the effects of trauma. We exist so that, for a justifiable expenditure of funds, those in our community are empowered to lead independent, safe and fulfilling lives.
To achieve this, we design our services so that individuals and families are treated with skill and care, appropriate to their needs; are listened to and receive information in a way that is understood; and are treated fairly, with dignity and respect irrespective of their age, background, ethnicity or religious affiliations.
