Repair Café Aotearoa New Zealand (RCANZ) grew out of Repair Café Auckland (2017/19) when we saw the need for greater resource sharing across the country. We are committed to a collaborative culture that supports the diversity in Aotearoa as well as urban and rural New Zealand communities.
RCANZ is part of the Repair Café International Foundation and umbrellaed by the Zero Waste Network New Zealand. We lobby for NZ Product Stewardship in collaboration with Consumer NZ and the Right to Repair Movement in Aotearoa and internationally.
Repair Cafés are free pop-up events and they are all about repairing, fixing and learning with each other. Visitors bring their broken items and together with the volunteer experts they look at mending or repairing what is possible. If you have nothing to repair to bring, you can enjoy a cuppa and a chat. Or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair job.
